![]() ![]() I sometimes use multiple editors, external to FSIV, that add side files and give me the same error message when I try to change the file name. I've had similar problems when I use a "/" or other characters the file-name syntax doesn't like. This means he can set things on your computer remotely. You could ask someone in your family who has computer knowledge or via remote pc or teamviewer to do it for you via remote control. If you go to advanced and owner, you can set an owner or an admin as the owner and then you can tick write, modify or full control. Thjis means he can't write to a folder a file. Looking at your permissions then faststone viewer has permission to write, the FSresizer has not permission to write, only to read and execute. I'll attach them, maybe someone can spot what to try next. Maybe the above info will trigger further/better responses.įIV is the only program open when tryng to rename a file. (Makes it hard to find originals on backup drives! ) My file manager is V The Fileviewer, where I do bulk file renaming, but single image file renaming is almost always done in FSIV. I have no idea what this would do to your thumbs db and/or other settings, but FSIV is generally very forgiving.Īnd FWIW, I don't use Windows Explorer for any file operations. ![]() You may need to consider un-installing/re-installing the non-portable version, or just uninstall it then put the portable version in the same folder location. ![]() If renaming works with the portable version, then compare the permissions for both. I've messed with permissions for years, going back to WinXP, and so far - knock on wood - have not encountered a problem. You might consider downloading FSIV portable and running from another drive (USB stick?) and checking it's permissions. (Have been known to occasionally have both open at the same time.) Both have the same Permission settings as seen in my screen cap. I have FSIV v6.4 installed on my C: drive, and FSIV v6.2 PORTABLE on another drive. Your screen grab doesn't show any Administrator permissions, etc. On my computer, my FSIV permissions are the same as for your FSResizer permissions. I'm not familiar with the dialog or know how to proceed. I looked at permissions dialog for both Faststone Image Viewer and Faststone Resizer. ![]()
